The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has revealed ambitious plans to grow its tourism economy to more than 24 million visitors per year. The news was announced during a press conference, held by DCT Abu Dhabi undersecretary Saood Al Hosani, unveiling the department’s growth roadmap for 2023. This year’s roadmap aims to ‘promote, protect and progress’ the emirate’s growing culture and tourism sectors. Other goals announced included plans to raise community awareness of Emirati heritage by 80% and increase visits to Abu Dhabi’s heritage sites to four million visitors a year.
