Intamin, long-time DEAL exhibitor and a creator of record-breaking amusement rides, is celebrating the opening of “Mahuka”, its new Hot Racer roller-coaster at Walibi Rhône-Alpes in France. Mahuka, which translates as “escape” in Hawaiian, takes riders on a journey to a remote island in the South Pacific. Here, they will enter an abandoned temple dedicated to the God of Fire. “But be careful not to set off the God’s sacred fire, or you will become a temple prisoner!” warns a spokesperson from Intamin. “Escape the site, face your worries, and prepare yourself for an incredible trip filled with experiences you won’t want to miss!” Intamin’s Hot Racer is a cutting-edge single-rail roller coaster model that delivers maximum thrills with a small footprint. With its slim trains and track design, the Hot Racer provides unrivalled layout flexibility, enabling thrilling features to be used within a compact design. Mahuka features two launches and seatings positioned near the track for an immersive high-speed experience. The layout includes exhilarating design elements throughout, with three inversions, 13 airtimes, and a top speed of 67 km/h (42 mph). Compared to other track designs, the “backboned” track design requires fewer columns and improves the ride’s visuals with its already-iconic double top hat. Source: blooloop
