DEAL’s regular exhibitor, Semnox Solutions, a provider of technology for the entertainment and amusement industry, has partnered with ATOMIC CITY Family Fun Center in Kentucky, US, to install an upgraded point-of-sale (POS) system powered by the Parafait suite of technologies. ATOMIC CITY is a 44,000-square-foot award-winning venue which includes attractions, an extensive arcade, a full-scale bar, and F&B. Its Semnox upgrade incorporates cashless arcade redemption with RFID card readers, management, and customised kiosks. ATOMIC CITY, which launched at the end of 2020, found that its team was spending a lot of time calling its former provider for technical support. Jeff Pierce, co-owner of ATOMIC CITY, says: “Now, since converting to Semnox, everything is running so smoothly. Also, during the installation process, they met all of our deadlines, and the leadership constantly followed up to ensure everything was satisfactory. “Not only did we need a system that was more dependable than what we were using, but it was also their non-pushy approach that we appreciate. Semnox showed us the demo a few years back, which we thought then looked really user-friendly. We would see them at industry-related events, and they made an effort to keep in touch with us without being pushy, which turned into a good, established relationship. “By the time it was time to switch technology, while we did interview with other companies, we pretty much knew we’d go with Semnox.” Semnox self-service kiosks enable visitors to purchase and reload game cards and upsell packages. The Lumin RFID card readers are “tap-to-play” enabled. This gives guests swift and smooth access to gameplay without requiring manual entry. In addition, it tracks redemption points and removes the need for paper tickets, resulting in fewer issues for operators.
